Former Nationals Still Working To Recruit Talent To Washington

It took a little while for the Nationals to fill their hole at first base, but they signed Adam LaRoche and he'll be introduced to the Washington media on Friday. I'm assuming that we'll hear a little bit more about how he landed in the District then, but Bill Ladson gave us a little sneak peak.

Adam Dunn, Matt Capps, Ryan Zimmerman and Jayson Werth convinced Adam LaRoche to sign with the #Nats.less than a minute ago via TweetDeck

As I'm sure you have noticed, only two of those four names are currently members of the Naitonals, and only one of them has played a game with the franchise.

Matt Capps was traded by the Nationals to Minnesota at the deadline this year and Adam Dunn just left for the White Sox via free agency. Yet, they still found time to help convince Adam LaRoche to sign. I can't think of any greater compliment to how the franchise is run that players who have been shipped out of town (or left on their own free will after the team didn't offer them a contract they wanted) still choose to speak highly of the franchise.
