Phillies have reached agreement with free agent Laynce Nix, sources tell CSNphilly.com. Deal is pending physical.

Nix was with the Nationals for only one season, playing in 124 games last year. He hit .250 with the Nats and belted a career high 16 homers, good enough for fourth best on the team in 2011. Nix also finished with 44 RBIs in his one season with Washington.

He is joining division rival Philadelphia and will likely be used in a spot role, as an extra outfielder for what many consider to be the National League's best team.
