It's easy to make mockery out of the tendency of baseball writers to proclaim that Player X is in the best shape of his life, so I realize I'm stepping into murky waters here. But like Roger Bernadina, it appears that Stephen Strasburg is also in really good shape. Over the winter, he bet pitching coach Steve McCatty that he would show up to spring training with a six-pack. Well, now it's spring training, and apparently, Strasburg has his six-pack.

↵Steve McCatty lost his bet with Stephen Strasburg, who did show up to camp with a six-pack.

The bet called for McCatty to pay Strasburg $100 if he had the six-pack and for Strasburg to pay McCatty $100,000 if he didn't, because McCatty said $100K is like $100 for a normal person. But according to Goessling, McCatty isn't paying, because Strasburg wasn't going to pay him $100K no matter what happened.
↵Come on, Steve! What kind of positive reinforcement is this!
