John Lannan Is Taking The Auto Train To Nationals Spring Training

There are many ways that professional athletes transport themselves to places where they need to hone their craft. Planes tend to be the primary means of travel for most, but they also take buses if the trips are short and cars if the trips are very short.

John Lannan, however, has devised a different way to make sure he gets down to Viera, Florida for the beginning of the Nationals' spring training. Instead of driving his car, Lannan has announced that he's taking an auto train, presumably because he doesn't really want to deal with the traffic.

It's actually a pretty convenient route. Amtrak's auto train takes you directly from D.C. to Orlando, which is about an hour away from Space Coast Stadium in Viera, Florida. The journey is long, but I wouldn't be surprised if that's how many players do it. It's certainly better than driving 15 hours by yourself.
