Anyone who has been lucky enough to see Washington Nationals prospect Bryce Harper in action during Spring Training or during his time with the Nationals Single-A team, the Hagerstown Suns, can sense the young outfielder can play baseball. Every time he steps to the plate, he wants to show the world that he lives, breathes and plays baseball. Now he can also look good doing it too as if he hasn't already.
Harper and Under Armour have announced a multi-year partnership where Harper will wear Under Armour apparel during games, attend promotional events and be featured in advertising campaigns.
"I'm excited to join the Under Armour family, which has shown such a strong commitment to helping young baseball players – and elite athletes in multiple sports – elevate their games," said Harper. "I admire Under Armour's dedication to training and their desire to be the best. Their apparel and footwear are second to none, which makes this partnership a great fit."
Harper joins third baseman Ryan Zimmerman as another National who is represented by Under Armour. Potentially the Nats now have their own version of Derek Jeter. Harper will probably embrace this part of the game just as well as he has everything else: with style. If anyone was thinking of dressing their kid up as Bryce Harper for Halloween, the costume just got a whole lot more expensive.
