Washington Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos belted his first and second home runs of the season off New York Mets pitcher Chris Young, and has helped the Nats pull even with the visiting Mets 3-3 going into the bottom of the fifth. The Nationals were behind 2-0 when Ramos smashed his first of the game in the second-inning, and the Nats were down 3-2 in the fifth when Ramos went yard again to tie it up.
It is the first multi-home run game of the young catcher's career and the first multi-homer game by a National since Sept. 6, 2010, when Danny Espinosa hit a pair against the Mets. Showing power on Tuesday night with Ramos is outfielder Jayson Werth, who redeemed himself after a throwing error earlier in the game that led to a score by going solo on Young in the fifth.
Starter Jordan Zimmermann looks extremely hittable, giving up three runs on seven hits and only one strike out, but so far has kept the damage relatively low and his offense has begun to back him up.
