Bryce Harper To Make Hagerstown Debut, Is Preparing Like A Little Kid

Bryce Harper, despite an ankle injury that sidelined him in Spring Training, will make his season debut for Class-A Hagerstown Tuesday night at 6 p.m. Hagerstown will play Harrisburg in an exhibition game, but still, it is Bryce Harper playing in a professional baseball game of some kind, so it's a big deal.

To celebrate, Harper spent Monday's media day session by spewing a bunch of cliches that make even the best baseball writers swoon. Or, he was just talking like a wide-eyed 18-year old kid. Your call. Bob Parasiliti of the Herald-Mail was impressed enough to put this gem of a quote into his story.

↵↵"I love the smell of the grass. I love the way the dirt smells after it rains," Harper said. "I love the feel of the dirt and the chalk in my hands. I love the smell of the crowd, the concessions and the field during a game. There is nothing better than going out and playing baseball."

It's almost like Harper is playing in Little League. Anyway, you can watch a live stream of the game here
