Washington Nationals pitcher Tom Gorzelanny has not been having a good Friday night. The Florida Marlins jumped on top of the Nationals early and all of their scoring have been home runs off Gorzelanny, but the Nationals have battled back to keep them in the game and into a 4-4 tie.
In the first-inning Gorzo gave up back-to-back home runs to Gaby Sanchez and John Buck. Sanchez's home run was a two-run bomb. The Marlins continued to hit Gorzelanny and eventually got to him again in the fourth-inning when Mike Stanton took the struggling Nats pitcher yard again.
The Nationals started to chip away with runs of their own. Shortstop Ian Desmond recorded an RBI single in the third-inning off Chris Volstad. Left fielder Laynce Nix continues to display power by tagging a ball a Nationals home run in the bottom of the fourth. Later, Roger Bernadina hit a two-out two RBI double to tie the game.
The game is heading into the fifth.
