This is a screenshot of Roger Bernadina robbing Mike Stanton of a sure extra-base hit during the Washington Nationals' game against the Florida Marlins on Friday night. Here is video of said play. It's easily one of the best catches of the year, and assuming the Nationals miss the playoffs like we all expect, it'll probably go down as one of the moments up the year, right up there with Stephen Strasburg's September return and Bryce Harper's callup (which probably won't happen, but run with us here).
↵Bernadina, who is only playing center field because of the injury to Rick Ankiel, raced back on a rocket line drive by Stanton. It looked like the ball was going to fall beyond him, but he reached his glove out at the last second and pulled it in. He then fell down for a few seconds, but recovered enough to walk off the field and continue playing.
↵Somehow, there was one Nationals fan that wasn't impressed though. Come on! Cheer!
