Nationals Vs. Mets Score: Nationals Trying To Play Catch-Up In 3-0 Game

The Washington Natoinals struggle in early innings and put themselves in holes early and Wednesday night has been no different. The New York Mets plated one run in the first-inning off starter Tom Gorzelanny and then added two more in the sixth to take a 3-0 lead.

In the first-inning Jose Reyes scored on a Jason Bay sacrifice double-play. Gorzelanny recovered and pitched four scoreless innings until the seventh when Justin Turner smashed a double to center field which scored Reyes and Scott Hairston. Gorzelanny left the game after that and was replaced by reliever Henry Rodriguez.

The Nationals offense continues to struggle as they have only collected four hits at Citi Bank Field. Roger Bernadina, Jayson Werth and Wilson Ramos so far are having a 1-for-3 type of night while outfielder Michael Morse also collected a hit. With the game in the seventh-inning the Nationals are running out of time to make things happen.
