Monday night's game between the Washington Nationals and the San Francisco Giants is moving into the sixth inning and pitchers Tom Gorzelanny and Madison Bumgarner have put on a show for those attending at Nationals Park. Both pitchers have put up zeroes across the board as the two teams are deadlocked in a 0-0 tie.
Gorzelanny has pitched impressively, only allowing two hits with one strikeout. The two hits he has given up both have come from Aaron Rowand. Bumgarner on the other hand had a no-hitter going through five. Then in the bottom of the fifth inning catcher Wilson Ramos broke it up with a double.
The Nationals are celebrating Military Appreciation Night at Nationals Park and have had members of the U.S. Armed Forces deliver the line-up cards, throw the first pitch and have had several between innings standing ovations for the current military and former military members in attendance. The Nationals are sporting their new patriotic alternative uniforms for the first time in 2011 during the game.
