Cardinals Vs. Nationals Score: Nationals Jump Right On Cardinals And Lead 5-0

The game between the Washington Nationals and St. Louis Cardinals is in the sixth-inning with the Nationals leading 5-0 and tightening their grasp on a possible fifth straight win. Pitcher Livan Hernandez has held the Cardinals to just two hits while he has recorded four strikeouts and issued no walks.

The offense was powered up by a Michael Morse who hit his 11th home run of the season in the second-inning off Kyle McClellan. Third baseman Ryan Zimmerman and catcher Ivan Rodriguez added RBi singles in the third and fourth-innings respectively. Also in the fourth a fielding error allowed second baseman Danny Espinosa to score and center fielder Roger Bernadina punched in a RBI double. The Nationals have cranked out seven hits in total.

The pitching and offense have come together strongly at Nationals Park and the team hopes it continues throughout the rest of the night. It has been an errorless night for the Nats while the Cardinals have two.
