Washington Nationals third baseman’s second annual "A Night at the Park" fundraiser will take place on Thursday evening at Nationals Park. The fundraiser benefits the ziMS Foundation, Zimmerman’s nonprofit organization dedicated to funding programs for multiple sclerosis (MS) patients. Last year’s event raised $200,000 for MS related treatment and research.
Tickets cost $75 for general admission and $500 for a VIP experience. Tickets can be purchased online at anightatthepark.com until Thursday afternoon. Walk-up tickets will also be available for purchase at Nationals Park. The doors are set to open at 6 p.m.
Participants will have the opportunity to bid on sports memorabilia and special experience packages including a meet and greet with Ryan Zimmerman and use of his suite for a Nationals game. In addition to live and silent auctions, country star Rodney Atkins will perform for the crowd beginning at 8:45 p.m.
The VIP tickets include dinner with Zimmerman and his teammates, entertainment by magician David Blaine and an open bar.
Zimmerman launched the ziMS Foundation in 2006 to find a cure to MS, a disease his mother has battled since 1995.
