The game between the Washington Nationals and San Francisco Giants is in the sixth-inning with the Nationals leading the Giants 4-0. First baseman Michael Morse is absolutely on fire and with his help the Nats chased star Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum from the game only after five innings of play.
In the top of the second inning Michael Morse blasted his ninth home run of the year. Then in the third-inning he added to the score by doubling in Roger Bernadina and Laynce Nix. Nix also had an RBI in the third. Lincecum is one of the game's premiere pitchers, but he seems to have trouble against the Nationals. Since 2009 Lincecum has a 5.87 ERA against the Washington while having a 2.79 ERA against everyone else.
Nationals starter John Lannan has fared better than his San Francisco opponent. He has gone five innings giving up one hit, three walks and has stuck out five. The Nationals seem to up their game against the World Champions. Perhaps it is something in the water.
