Nationals Vs. Giants Score: Yunesky Maya Pitching Well, But Washington Trails, 1-0

As we speak, the Washington Nationals appear to be squandering a rare good start from Yunesky Maya. Maya, who has been lit up recently, cruised through five innings before giving up a run in the sixth. Unfortunately, the Nationals haven't been able to get much going against Matt Cain, and they trail, 1-0.

Maya has been very efficient in his six innings, throwing just 67 pitches and giving up just four hits. But the Giants were able to scratch a run against him thanks to consecutive doubles by Eli Whiteside and then Cain himself. Maya then walked the next hitter to put runners on first and second with one out, but he managed to force two groundouts to get out of the inning.

Cain, meanwhile, has thrown more pitches (80), but also has seven strikeouts and just three hits surrendered. Ian Desmond, Michael Morse and Danny Espinosa have the three hits for Washington.
