Nationals Vs. Dodgers Final: John Lannan's Longball Highlights 7-2 Nationals Victory

The Washington Nationals defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 7-2 on Friiday night at Dodgers Stadium. Perhaps more appropriately Nationals starter John Lannan defeated the Dodgers as the southpaw did a little of everything on the mound and at the plate.

With one man on base, Lannan hit a two-run home run off pitcher Hiroki Kuroda in the second inning to help give the Nationals an early 3-0 lead. It was Lannan's first career home run. First baseman Michael Morse hit a RBI double in the first inning. The Dodgers scored two off Lannan in the fourth, but that is all the lefty allowed. It was all Nationals the rest of the way as Lannan finished the night going six innings giving up two runs (one earned) on three hits while while walking four and striking out six.

The Nationals put the Dodgers away for good in the ninth inning when Jerry Hairston Jr. hit a Grand Slam. It was Hairston's fourth home run of the season.

The Nationals move to 49-50 on the season.
