Nationals Vs. Cubs: Jordan Zimmermann Looks To Give Nationals Series Win

The Nationals look to take the series when they square off against the Cubs at 2:20 p.m. Jordan Zimmerman is looking to get his first career win against the Cubs.

The Washington Nationals lost in somewhat frustrating fashion on Wednesday night to the Chicago Cubs. Now, they will turn to Jordan Zimmermann to try to get a series win in an afternoon game on Thursday. The game will take place at 2:20 p.m. and is a makeup for the Monday game rained out.

Zimmermann is looking for his first career win against the Cubs. He got a no-decision on July 4, the last time he faced them. Chicago counters with Ryan Dempster, who has won his last two starts.

The Nationals' lineup will have a couple changes. Laynce Nix replaces Jonny Gomes in left field, and Wilson Ramos is back in the lineup to replace Jesus Flores, who caught Ross Detwiler on Wednesday. Here is the lineup:

  1. Rick Ankiel (CF)
  2. Danny Espinosa (2B)
  3. Ryan Zimmerman (3B)
  4. Michael Morse (1B)
  5. Jayson Werth (RF)
  6. Laynce Nix (LF)
  7. Ian Desmond (SS)
  8. Wilson Ramos (C)
  9. Jordan Zimmermann (P)
