Ross Detwiler will take the hill for the Washington Nationals looking to give them a second straight win over the Cincinnati Reds at Nationals Park on Wednesday night. Detwiler is looking for his second win of the season after once again coming up short in a loss to the Chicago Cubs. He won his first start, pitched in relief for a while and has not won since.
The Nationals won Tuesday night's game, 6-4, and are looking for a second win over the Reds. Johnny Cueto will be the man starting for the Reds in this one.
The big news is that Davey Johnson has made a lineup change, bumping the slumping Danny Espinosa down from No. 2 to No. 6 in the order. August has been Espinosa's worst month, and he has struggled in particular since the All-Star break. Also, Ian Desmond will get a chance to hit leadoff.
Here is the Nationals' lineup:
- Ian Desmond (SS)
- Rick Ankiel (CF)
- Ryan Zimmerman (3B)
- Michael Morse (1B)
- Jayson Werth (RF)
- Danny Espinosa (2B)
- Jonny Gomes (LF)
- Wilson Ramos (C)
- Ross Detwiler (P)
