Diamondbacks Vs. Nationals: Nationals Hope John Lannan Is Anti-Venom Against Diamondbacks Bite

The Nationals will be facing an inexperienced Diamondbacks pitcher which might be the fuel to the offensive fire they have been lacking the past two games. Right fielder Jayson Werth returns to the line-up after resting a mild groin strain for a day.

The Nationals started off a four game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks on the right track, but after three games they have completely fallen off the rails. The D-Backs lead the series at Nationals Park two games to one and have the Nationals, who have been seriously lacking offense recently, backs to the wall.

Nationals southpaw John Lannan (8-9, 3.61 ERA) is hoping, praying that the offense shows up were as in the past two games they have failed to support fellow starters Jordan Zimmermann and Livan Hernandez. Lannan is 3-1 with a 1.04 ERA against Arizona in his career and he would like to keep improving on that record. He will be facing the Diamondbacks' Wade Miley (0-1, 11.25 ERA).

Right fielder Jayson Werth returns to the line-up after taking a day resting a mild groin strain.

First pitch is at 7:05 P.M.
