Nationals Vs. Braves Score: Braves Hold Nationals Down To 3-0 Score

The Atlanta Braves have jumped out to a 3-0 lead on top of the Washington Nationals going into the sixth inning. Two Atlanta home runs and a single have put Nationals starter John Lannan in a bad place as the Nationals offense once again seems to have gone into hiding.

In the second inning Chipper Jones took Lannan yard for his 14th homer of the year. Then in the third pitcher Derek Lowe (yes, pitcher) hit his first career home run off Lannan. Dan Uggla also had a RBI single in the third. Lannan has gone five innings giving up three runs on five hits, walking one and striking out five.

It would be nice if the Nationals offense showed up to give Lannan a little help (and hope). Lead-off hitter Ian Desmond has the only two hits of the Nationals night. Lowe has kept the rest of the Washington bats silent.
