Nationals Vs. Rockies: Z-Men Set Out To Roll Nationals Over Rockies

Ryan Zimmerman is riding a 13-game hitting streak while Jordan Zimmermann is coming off a strong six-inning performance against the New York Mets. The Nationals hope both continue to show off their talent on the way to a victory against the Rockies.

The Washington Nationals and Colorado Rockies will be taking the field at Coors Field at 8:40 P.M. EST for game two of a four game set on Friday night. The Rockies won the first game of the series 6-3 on Thursday night so the Nationals will be looking for the equalizer.

The Nats will turn to two of their most promising, who ironically almost share the same name, to gain a victory against Colorado and Juan Nicasio (4-3, 3.95 ERA). Fans will be watching both third baseman Ryan Zimmerman and starting pitcher Jordan Zimmermann (6-9, 3.12 ERA) during Friday's high altitude contest. Zimmerman is in the middle of his 11th double-digit hit streak of his career and currently has hit safely in 13 straight games going 25-for-56 (.446). The fireball throwing Zimmermann is also looking to continue to build on a strong 2011 campaign after Tommy John surgery and rebounding from a couple recent rough starts. In his last start he pitched six scoreless innings against the New York Mets issuing only one walk while stamping a K on six.

Can the Z-Men continue their respective good fortunes? The Nationals certainly hope so as they crave getting back in the win column and getting back to under five games from .500.
