Nationals Vs. Rockies: Nationals Look To Draw Even With Rockies In Final Game

The Nats turn to their trusty southpaw John Lannan who is recently coming off a strong performance where he struck out a season-high eight batters and earned his eighth win of the season.

The Washington Nationals are most likely looking forward to getting out of Colorado and away from Coors Field. They have had a heck of a battle with the Colorado Rockies in a four game series that has the Rockies leading 2-1. The Nationals would like nothing more than to leave with a series split at this point.

To get them that win on Sunday, they are turning to their staple left-hander John Lannan (8-7, 3.65 ERA). The southpaw had one heck of a game last Tuesday where he recorded his eighth win of the season against the Atlanta Braves and struck out a season-high eight batters. However, Lannan hasn't had many silver bullets when dealing with the Rockies and Coors Field. He is 0-2 with a 7.56 ERA in five career starts against the Rockies.

The Nationals offense has had a sort of awakening in the thin air of Denver. In the past three games the Nationals have collected 15 runs and are enjoying an offensive burst that hopefully continues against Colorado starter Aaron Cook (2-6, 5.34 ERA).
