Nationals Vs. Mets Score: Nationals Down 2-0 After Error By Jayson Werth

Washington Nationals starter Chien-Ming Wang was giving up the hits to the New York Mets, but for four innings he held down the fort. Then in the fifth it all came undone as an error from a team veteran has helped put the Nationals down 2-0 at Citi Field in the Big City in the sixth inning.

With a two men on and two out Wang gave up a single to Lucas Duda to score Jose Reyes. However a fielding error by Nationals right fielder Jayson Werth also allowed Ruben Tejada to score as well. All this comes after an incredible play by center fielder Rick Ankiel who gunned down Josh Thole at home plate on a Reyes single. It was like the ball shot out of a cannon, not touching the field between center field and home plate where it neatly landed in the glove of catcher Wilson Ramos for the easy, but shocking out.

It will now be up to the Nationals offense to produce some runs to get back in the game. They have only recorded four hits against New York's Dillon Gee.
