Today is a big sports day in the DMV, so send your girlfriend out to Bed, Bath and Beyond. Below is a list of the games you need to watch and where to find them. All times eastern. We got big time college games, MLB and even some hoops on tap.
College Football
Noon, ESPNU: Maryland takes on No. 18 West Virgina. The Terps haven't beat the 'Eers since New Years Day 2004 so some would say they are due. The most recent Vegas odds have the game as a Pick 'Em, so this should be a close one. For a primer on the UMD-WVU rivalry, check out this Washington Post piece, and check back on rumors that Mountaineer players taunted the Terps' student section in pregame warmups.
6 p.m., ESPN2: Tune in for Navy versus No. 10 South Carolina. The Midshipmen face a tough battle against the Gamecocks, and Vegas has the Annapolis boys as 15-point underdogs. South Carolina opened with a sloppy win against East Carolina before last week's squeaker over Georgia, so maybe the Midshipmen can catch them sleeping after two rough games.
More after the jump.
MLB Baseball:
7 p.m., MASN2: Santa Stras is coming to town again tonight. Stephen Strasburg takes the mound against the Florida Miami Marlins on MASN2. The Nationals have been hot after sweeping the Mets. It should be interesting to see if Stras can keep the momentum going, and more importantly, keep his velocity up and his arm in good health.
MLS Soccer:
9 p.m., CSN: Comcast SportsNet will show the D.C. United vs. Seattle Sounders match at 9 pm. The Seattle crowd is known to get loud, and a primetime match should give the lads plenty of time for a pint or two. This one could be fun.
NBA Hoops:
3 p.m., ilinksports.com: I guess we should call this quasi-NBA Hoops. On 3 p.m. at ilinksports.com you can watch the latest iteration of a celeb pickup game. Kevin Durant and John Wall are expected to play little defense but score a bunch. From Michael Lee on Twitter:
iLinkSports.com will live stream charity game with Durant, Wall & others at 3 on Saturday at Coolidge High for just $.99
