Marlins Vs. Nationals: Chien-Ming Wang Sent In To Prevent Sweep At Bats Of Marlins

The Florida Marlins have dominated the Nationals in their own ballpark since 2008. Chien-Ming Wang looks to turn the tides and continue improving in his 10th start of 2011.

The Washington Nationals came into the current series with the Florida Marlins fresh off a four-game sweep of the New York Mets. On Sunday, the Nats are looking to not get swept themselves. The Fish have taken two from the Nationals at Nationals Park the past two days and continue to build on a dominating record when these two teams meet. The Marlins are 26-8 at Nationals Park since the Park opened in 2008.

Taiwanese Nationals righty Chien-Ming Wang (2-3, 4.35 ERA) is slated to take the mound Sunday afternoon against Florida's Brad Hand (1-7, 4.02 ERA). It will be Wang's 10th start since returning from shoulder surgery. Wang has not won his last five starts and is 0-1 with a 4.45 ERA during that time. Through each of his starts Wang has shown consistency and has improved game by game, but his small 2011 portfolio is still missing that truly great performance the Nationals are sure he is capable of.

The Nationals and their fans hope that it comes Sunday.
