It has been back and forth, back and forth between the Washington Nationals and Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park. However, neither team seems willing to give as the score is 0-0 in the sixth inning.
Rookie southpaw Tom Milone has kept the Phillies line up at bay. So far he has gone five innings giving up no runs, two hits, walking none and striking out one. It is the type of performance that the Nationals are hoping the youngster is capable of giving consistently.
Offensively, there is not much to report other than the Nationals are leading the Phillies in hits. The Nationals have five hits off Kyle Kendrick. Roger Bernadina, Rick Ankiel, Steve Lombardozzi, and Danny Espinosa have all tallied hits while Laynce Nix reached base on a Phillies fielding error in the top of the sixth. The Nats were able to get Ankiel on third base with two outs, but Espinosa struck out to end the inning and the closet scoring threat of the day.
