Dodgers Vs. Nationals Doubleheader: Game 1 Has Chien-Ming Wang On Mound To Plug Up Holes

The Nationals and Dodgers play a traditional doubleheader after a rain out on Wednesday. Chien-Ming Wang takes the mound for Game 1 while Ross Detwiler will be the starter for Game 2.

The Washington Nationals and Los Angeles Dodgers are set to have a Thursday traditional doubleheader after Wednesday night's game was rained out. Unfortunately for the Nationals water from the skies aren't the only thing pouring down on them. On Tuesday night the Dodgers rained a crooked number of runs down on the Nats in a 7-3 win to tie the four game series between the two teams at a win apiece.

The Nationals will be sending starter Chein-Ming Wang (2-3, 4.19 ERA) to the mound to plug up the holes and stop the runs. Wang is searching for his first win since August 16th. In his last outing the big Taiwanese pitcher was a little roughed up by the Atlanta Braves. He gave up two big home runs and walked three. Wang says he believes his lack of getting first pitch strikes and not getting ahead of batters has been the problem and he will look to fix it Thursday afternoon. He will face L.A.'s Chad Billingsley (10-10, 4.15 ERA).

Thursday afternoon also marks the first time Steve Lombardozzi will start in a MLB game. He will be manning second base in the first game of the doubleheader as usual second baseman Danny Espinosa gets a little rest.

First pitch is at 1:05 P.M.
