Astros Vs. Nationals: Throwing Error Gives Washington 4-3 Extra-Inning Win

When Jayson Werth's hard ground ball to third base was fielded on a dive by Jimmy Paredas in the bottom of the 11th inning, it looked like yet another example of the Washington Nationals failing to come through with runners on base. Instead, Paredas did the Nationals a favor. His throw to nab Michael Morse at second base sailed into center field, and Ryan Zimmerman scored from second base to give the Nationals a 4-3 win. It's just Washington's fourth win in their last 16 tries.

The inning began with two straight walks to Zimmerman and Morse after the first man was retired. Werth then hit the ball hard towards third for the ultimate play.

The game was tight throughout, with the Astros chasing Tom Milone in the sixth inning after Morse misplayed a Carlos Lee double in left field. The Nationals tied it in the seventh inning on a double by Chris Marrero and the game went into extra innings.

Tyler Clippard picked up the win for Washington, while Lucas Harrell picked up the loss for Houston.
