MLB Free Agency: Michael Morse, John Lannan File For Arbitration With Washington Nationals

The Washington Nationals have a few free agents they need to take care of and some players they will want to target, but they'll have to head to arbitration for a few of them. Jon Heyman of CBS has a bit of news on what exactly those players will get.

Morse is a key factor for the Nats, breaking out in the 2011 season hitting for a .301 averaging and hitting 31 homeruns. Morse also knocked in 95 RBI for the Nationals in 2011. Not only will the Nats have to deal with Morse in arbitration, but left-handed starting pitcher John Lannan also filed for arbitration.

Lannan went only 10-13 as a starter for the Nationals, but pulled in a 3.70 ERA and averaged nearly six innings per game pitched. He's still a good guy to have in the rotation and a player the Nats would like to hold on to.
