The twitter-sphere blew up last night when a rumor emerged that the Nationals had agreed to a contract with Prince Fielder. It appears that those rumors are untrue and there is no agreement in place, but that does not mean the Nationals aren't making the effort to sign him. Former GM Jim Bowden tweeted this late Sunday evening.

Now the rumor mill will get going again with this latest bit of news, even though it isn't really that much more new information. There is a lot of smoke surrounding Prince Fielder and the nationals right now, so it wouldn't surprise me if there was in fact some fire there. But it seems like the Prince Fielder market, wherever he ends up signing, is really heating up.
