Ahead 1-0 in the best-of-five series the Washington Nationals will try to bring a possible elimination game to the nation's capital Monday when they square off against the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 2 of the National League Division Series at Busch Stadium.
Jordan Zimmermann will take the mound or the Nationals, who earned a 3-2 victory in Sunday's series opener. The 26-year-old righty will oppose Cardinals' left-handed veteran, Jaime Garcia.
Zimmermann will try to match the performance of Nats' Game 1 starter, Gio Gonzalez, who allowed two runs on three hits in five innings of work. Garcia will look to pick up were he left off in the regular season, which ended with him winning three straight games.
Meanwhile, the Cardinals offense will look to improve on collecting hits with runners on base. In Game 1, St. Louis went 0-for-8 with runners in scoring position and left 10 men on base.
The game is schedule to start at 4:30 p.m. ET and will be broadcasted on TBS.
