Washington Nationals power hitter Michael Morse is going to be out of the lineup longer than originally expected after experiencing additional soreness from his spring training back injury. It was first reported that Morse would be place on the disabled list until the Nationals home opening game against the Cincinnati Reds on Thursday, but that will not happen.
Morse, who would have been eligible to return to the lineup as soon as today, is out indefinitely according to Michael Kilgore of the Washington Post.
Michael Morse felt soreness throwing last night, had to be re-examined by team docs. He's not playing Thursday. Out indefinitely.

Davey says Morse had trouble reaching the shortstop from left field and took himself out of the game in Hagerstown. "That stresses me."
