Nationals Vs. Cubs: Stephen Strasburg Goes Seven Strong Innings

In his first game as the No. 1 starter for the Washington Nationals, Stephen Strasburg put together a very good performance at Wrigley Field against the Chicago Cubs. Unfortunately for him, it's not going to be enough for a win as things stand.

Strasburg went seven strong innings while allowing one earned run, striking out five and walking just one before he was pulled for pinch hitter Chad Tracy. Through seven innings, the Cubs lead 1-0 thanks to a great performance on the mound by Ryan Dempster. Marlon Byrd drove in the Cubs' only run with a two-out single that brought in Ian Stewart in the fourth inning.

The Nats, who are keeping an eye on Strasburg's workload this season, will be happy that Strasburg was able to give them a full seven innings while only throwing 82 pitches.
