Nationals Vs. Mets Game Preview: Washington Looks To Stay Hot

The Washington Nationals won their first series of the season and will now take on the red hot New York Mets on the road.

The Washington Nationals were able to win their first series of the 2012 MLB season over opening weekend, taking two out of three games from the Chicago Cubs, dropping the final game 4-3. The Nats bats have done well early in the season as first baseman Adam LaRoche is off to a hot start, leading the Nats in batting average, homeruns, RBI, on-base percentage, and hits so far through the first three games. On Monday, the Nationals will bring newly signed Edwin Jackson to the mound for his regular season debut.

The Nats will be taking on Mike Pelfrey and the New York Mets, who are on to a hot start of their own sweeping the Atlanta Braves in their first series of the season. The Mets have gotten nice outings from their pitching rotation so far and their bats have been alive, hitting in 11 runs combined in their last two games. All-Star third baseman David Wright is off to a hot start, hitting over .600 through the first three gams and leading the Mets in hits.

Starting Pitchers:

Washington: Jackson (0-0, 0.00 ERA)
New York: Pelfrey (0-0, 0.00 ERA)
