The Washington Nationals are reeling at the moment. Losers of five games in a row and struggling for any kind of offensive production, the Nats look to snap their losing streak Wednesday night against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Edwin Jackson takes the hill for the Nats on Wednesday after going six and two-thirds innings allowing only six hits and three walks in a no-decision against San Diego.
The offense needs to turn around for the Nationals. During the losing streak, Washington has hit a paltry .155 while scoring only seven runs. It gets no easier for the Nationals as they face Arizona starting pitcher Joe Saunders, 2-1 with a 0.90 ERA. So far this season he has held batters to a .186 batting average. His last start was a three-hitter against the Miami Marlins on April 27.
Bryce Harper is also looking for his first multi-hit game of his career as he will bat out of the seventh spot in the order for the Nationals. The rest of the lineup is as such.
#Nats vs #Dbacks: Desmond 6, Lombardozzi 5, Werth 9, LaRoche 3, Nady 7, Espinosa 4, Harper 8, Ramos 2, Jackson 1.
