Looking to maintain its lead atop the N.L. East standings, the Washington Nationals are sending Edwin Jackson to the mound on Tuesday after falling in the first game of the weekday set on Monday, 5-3.
Prior to Monday, Washington had won six of its last seven games, including a sweep of the Atlanta Braves over the weekend. And over those seven games, the Nationals averaged nearly six runs per contest. But those bats cooled against the Marlins, as they amassed just seven hits and three runs, including going 1 for 7 with runners in scoring position.
First pitch at Marlins Park on Tuesday is scheduled for 7:10 p.m. EST and will be televised by MASN 2.
