Nationals Vs. Marlins Final Score: Washington Can't Rally To Avoid Sweep, Goes Down 5-3

Due to an error, we prematurely published a version of this post before the game was over. We apologize for the error.

The Washington Nationals have been on a short skid and couldn't slow it down on Wednesday night against the Miami Marlins, who completed the sweep over the Nats in a 5-3 victory. Washington went down 1-0 early when the Marlins scored in the first inning on a Giancarlo Stanton single. The Nats tied the game shortly after and matched the Marlins run for run in the next few innings, tying the game at 3-3.

The Marlins took the lead in the bottom of the fifth however and the Nats bats couldn't get going late in the game once again. Miami capped it off with a Giancarlo Stanton home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to seal the game and complete the sweep.
