Phillies Vs. Nationals: Washington Rallies To Force Extra Innings

The Washington Nationals scored single runs in the sixth and eighth innings to tie the Philadelphia Phillies, 3-3 at Nationals Park.

Entering the bottom of the sixth behind, 3-1, Washington cut their deficit to 3-2 on a Jesus Flores sacrifice fly. The Nationals had a chance to tie the game right then, but the inning ended with Rick Ankiel being tagged out rounding third after a mix-up with base coach Bo Porter.

In the eighth inning, Flores came up big again, as his blooped RBI double scored Chad Tracy to tie the game at 3-3. Again, the Nationals had a chance to take their first lead of the night, but Chad Qualls retired Ian Desmond and Stephen Lombardozzi to preserve the tie.
