Bryce Harper made Cole Hamels pay for hitting him in the back by stealing home in the bottom of the first inning to put the Washington Nationals ahead of the Philadelphia Phillies 1-0 Sunday night.
With two outs and nobody on, Hamels drilled Harper between the numbers with the first pitch he threw to the 19-year-old. Harper went first-to-third on a single by Jayson Werth, then stole home when Hamels attempted to pick off the former Phillie at first. Laynce Nix's throw was high and Harper slid safely under the tag of Carlos Ruiz to electrify the Nationals Park crowd.
