Ryan Zimmerman Injury: Third Baseman Activated From Disabled List

Washington Nationals third baseman Ryan Zimmerman is officially off the disabled list and is now available to play Tuesday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Nationals general manager Mike Rizzo made the announcement today according to the press release. The release also said that outfielder Jayson Werth was placed on the disabled list because of his wrist fracture.

Zimmerman last played on April 20. To that point he had batted .224 with four doubles, a home run and seven RBIs in 15 games. The Nationals went 7-6 while Zimmerman was out of the line up. The Nationals could use Zimmerman's help going forward on offense. The Nationals have lacked some offensive punch and Zimmerman was starting to turn a corner offensively prior to his stint on the DL.
