Yankees Vs. Nationals: Edwin Jackson Takes The Hill For Washington As Nats Look To Avoid Being Swept

The Washington Nationals (38-25) take the field Sunday afternoon at Nats Park against the New York Yankees (39-25) looking to avoid being swept by the hottest team in the American League. Washington entered this high-profile weekend interleague series riding a six-game winning streak, but have lost the first two games of the series to New York, now themselves winners of eight straight contests.

Edwin Jackson (3-3, 3.02 ERA) will take the mound for Davey Johnson's ballclub. Jackson is 0-5 with a 5.75 ERA in eight starts against the Yankees since he last beat them on April 5, 2008, while a member of the Tampa Bay Rays.

Ivan Nova (8-2, 4.64 ERA) will take the ball for New York in the series finale. The young righthander is 11-0 with a 3.34 ERA in his last 14 road starts since losing to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim on June 3, 2011.

First pitch is scheduled for 1:35 p.m. EST.
