Nationals Vs. Orioles: Washington Collects Eight Hits, Tops Baltimore 3-1

Good pitching was, again, the key for the Washington Nationals (41-28). After a strong start from Edwin Jackson, followed up by a solid performance from the bullpen, the Nats topped the host Baltimore Orioles (40-31) by a final score of 3-1 on Saturday night at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.

Jackson lasted six and one-third innings, striking out five and allowing just one run. And then, Tyler Clippard capped off the bullpen's effort with his 12 consecutive save of the season.

Washington's three runs, including a solo home run from Adam LaRoche, came in the second and fourth innings, pouncing on Baltimore starter Wei-Yin Chen early. Chen would be pulled after the fifth inning. LaRoche's homer was his 13th this season.

The series finale is set for tomorrow at 1:35 p.m. EST.
