The Washington Nationals added Xavier Nady to the disabled list on Monday. Utility man mark DeRosa was activated in his place.

Presswire

The Washington Nationals made a pair of roster moves ahead of their four-game series with the Colorado Rockies on Monday. Utility man Mark DeRosa has been activated from the disabled list. Outfielder Xavier Nady has been placed on the 15-day disabled list due to tendinitis in his right wrist.

DeRosa, 37, has been out of action since April due to an oblique strain. His role is strictly limited to that of a bench player. In 44 plate appearances this season, before being sidelined, he was hitting .081/.227/.081. He spent the previous two seasons in San Francisco.

Nady last played on June 7. The team did not say much regarding the extent of his injury. In 40 games and 102 at-bats this season, Nady has a woeful .486 OPS with three home runs.
