John Lannan Trade Rumors: Nationals Have Talked With Dodgers And Rockies About A Deal

The Washington Nationals are persisting in their efforts to trade left-handed pitcher John Lannan. According to the latest report from Ken Rosenthal at Fox Sports, the team has talked with the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Colorado Rockies about a potential deal, but nothing is close.

Washington reportedly wants whatever team that gets Lannan to pay the rest of his salary. The lefty is due $3.5 million of his original $5 million salary this year. The Nationals also want at least one "legitimate" player in return.

That asking price did not appeal to the Rockies, according to Rosenthal's report, who would like to add a starter. Los Angeles was merely exploring the possibility rather than talking too seriously about a deal.

Lannan is pitching in Triple-A, and not doing a very good job of it. He has a 4-5 record and a 5.63 ERA in 10 starts.
