Mets Vs. Nationals Score Update: Adam LaRoche Opens Up With 3-Run Blast, Nats Lead 3-0

The Washington Nationals are trying to make it two wins in a row over the New York Mets and keep pace in the NL East. Edwin Jackson made quick work of the Mets batters in the first inning, giving up no hits. The Nats took to the plate in the bottom of the first inning and opened up on the scoreboard.

Bryce Harper made it to second base thanks to an error, putting him in scoring position. Third baseman Ryan Zimmerman came to the plate next and walked, putting two men on the basses. Adam LaRoche came up to the plate next in his clean up spot, and did just that. LaRoche crushed a home run to right field, giving the Nationals the early 3-0 lead over the Mets.
