Mets Vs. Nationals: Washington Looks To Close Out Series Sweep

With back-to-back wins over the New York Mets, the Washington Nationals have created a little bit of breathing room for themselves at the top of the National League East standings. They'll hope to notch another victory this afternoon as they wrap up a three-game set with the Mets.

It won't be easy, though, as they're up against R.A. Dickey (8-1, 2.69 ERA), who can become MLB's first nine-game winner with a victory. Chien-Ming Wang (1-1, 6.43), the one Nationals starter who really hasn't been able to get on track this year, will take the mound for the hosts.

At 32-22, Washington is two games clear of the Miami Marlins and Atlanta Braves atop the NL East. The Mets are two-and-a-half games back at 31-26.

The game is scheduled for 1:05 p.m., and it will be televised on MASN.
