Nationals Vs. Red Sox Score Update: Washington With A 4-0 Lead Over Boston After Five Innings

The Washington Nationals are currently ahead over the Boston Red Sox this afternoon at Fenway Park. After leading 1-0 after the second inning, the Nats put three runs on the board in the top of fourth inning to give themselves a 4-0 cushion after five innings.

Adam LaRoche put the first run on the board for Washington with his home run to right center in the second inning. Micahel Morse's ground-rule double plated Bryce Harper and Ian Desmond followed that up with two-run single that scored Ryan Zimmerman and the aforementioned Morse in the fourth inning.

Gio Gonzalez got the start on the mound and is currently pitching a masterful game for Washington.

Through five innings of work, Gonzalez has given up just one hit, one walk and has struck out five Red Sox batters so far in the game.
