Nearly three years to the day of their last victory in Milwaukee, the Washington Nationals travel to Miller Park to face the Milwaukee Brewers in the first of a four-game series. The Nationals are riding a five game winning streak, averaging about 6.4 runs per game and a team batting average of .304 since their 4-0 loss to the Atlanta Braves on July 21.
The Nationals will send pitcher Edwin Jackson (5-6, 3.73 ERA) to the mound on Thursday. Jackson is coming off a strong start against the Atlanta Braves in that July 21 loss, allowing one run on five hits and striking out nine batters.
The Brewers will counter with starting pitcher Yovani Gallardo (8-7, 3.72). He is looking to rebound from his last start, allowing four runs on nine hits against the Cincinnati Reds on July 21.
The game is scheduled for an 8:10 p.m. first pitch from Miller Park. Television coverage will be provided by MLB Network nationally and MASN locally. Radio coverage for the game will be provided by 106.7 The Fan FM, 1500 WFED AM and 1580 WHFS AM.
