The Washington Nationals appear on track for a season-best sixth straight win. The Nats have jumped out to a 4-0 lead over the Milwaukee Brewers after four innings at Miller Park on Thursday.
Washington punched in all four runs during the top of the second inning, beginning with a solo home run from first baseman Adam LaRoche. A few batters later, Steve Lombardozzi would triple to score three.
Edwin Jackson took the hill for the Nationals, and since, has tossed 60 pitches with three strikeouts and just three hits and no runs allowed. In his last start, on July 21 against the Braves, Jackson lasted seven innings and allowed just one earned run but was charged with the loss in the team's 4-0 defeat. He is on track for the win tonight.
