Nationals Vs. Brewers Preview: Washington Looks For Seventh Straight Win

The Washington Nationals have been red hot as of late, with a season high six game winning streak they have pushed their record to 20 games over .500. The last time this franchise was that far ahead of .500, was in the strike-shortened year of 1994.

In Friday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers, the Nationals will send pitcher Ross Detwiler (5-3, 3.01) to the mound. In his last two starts, Detwiler has allowed only one earned run over 14 innings. Against the Atlanta Braves on July 22, Detwiler went seven innings, scattering seven hits and allowing two runs, only one earned.

The Milwaukee Brewers will send pitcher Mike Fiers (3-4, 1.96) to the mound. In his last start on July 22 against the Cincinnati Reds, Fiers went six innings, allowing two runs, one earned, on five hits with four strikeouts.

The game is scheduled for an 8:10 p.m. first pitch from Miller Park. Television coverage will be provided by MASN 2 with radio coverage provided by 106.7 The Fan FM, 1500 WFED AM and 1580 WHFS AM.
